The online gaming operator Mansion Group has just announced that they have obtained an iGaming license in Ireland. This means that their well-known products, including MansionCasino, Casino.com and Slots Heaven, will soon have a place among the country’s sports betting, casino and online gambling providers.

The Mansion Group Has Been Awarded Ireland’s iGaming Seal of Approval

Obtaining an online gambling license in Ireland is a goal that many operators have had their eye on, but Mansion Group is the most recent company to actually achieve this end. There is considerable competition in the Irish online gambling market, but this has neither stopped nor slowed Mansion Group’s intended expansion.

The license they have been granted will cover their sportsbook, MansionBet, in addition to their MansionCasino brand, Casino.com and the SlotsHeaven casino name.

When commenting on the expansion, Mansion Group’s chief executive Karel Manasco acknowledged that moving into the Irish market is a somewhat bold move for the brand. He says:

“We recognise the size of the competition (in Ireland), but with over 15 years’ experience in the industry and strong brand recognition, I believe we have the knowledge, paired with an impressive product to succeed.”

Expansion in the Face of Uncertainty

The decision to move into Ireland’s online casino market right now is one that many operators have hesitated in. This is because Irish officials announced earlier this year that the government plans to initiate a total overhaul of the country’s online gambling market.

Officials are in the midst of hashing out the particulars of the proposed regulatory changes, but they have already voted for a more stringent watchdog to oversee the industry and implement controls such as:

  • Maintaining sport integrity
  • Banning unethical behaviors
  • Imposing operator penalties
  • Imposing daily, weekly and monthly spending limits on gambling

This is a tall order for a single regulatory body, and it is just one aspect of Ireland’s proposed changes. The government has already approved a new Gaming and Lotteries Bill that will be in effect this year as well.

The uncertainty of the market has led many operators to postpone plans to establish themselves in Ireland, especially since the government has already doubled betting turnover taxes once in this process.

Despite this, Mansion Group has not only made the decision to enter Ireland’s online gambling market, but they are confident in the success of their product.

Another Step Towards Long-term Goals

Mansion Group has been steadily progressing towards more exposure and expansion this year.

In addition to obtaining an iGaming license in Ireland, they have also closed a kit sponsorship deal with AFC Bournemouth. While their M88 brand has appeared on players’ kits since the 2018 season, this deal will place the core Mansion brand more prominently on the sleeves of the kits for the 2019-2020 season.

While many brands would be content to rest on these major successes for a short while, Mansion Group has not slowed down at all. In the midst of this growth, they have also unveiled a brand-new gamification rewards program called CasinoClub. Currently, the program is exclusive to their Casino.com members, but there are hints that this might be expanded to their other platforms in the future.
