The Dutch gambling authorities have granted two new operating licenses. These licenses will go to JOI I and JOI II Limited, which are JOI Gaming Ltd. associates. These brands all fall under the umbrella of land-based Dutch casino operator JVH Gaming & Entertainment.
Kansspelautoriteit Grants New Licenses to JOI Gaming
The Dutch gambling regulator Kansspelautoriteit, or KSA, has recently issued two new operating licenses. Both new licenses will be granted to JOI Gaming-affiliated brands. Additionally, the first license goes to JOI I Limited and the second to JOI II Limited.
The Dutch KSA has awarded two new operating licenses to JVH Gaming & Entertainment Group subsidiaries JOI I Limited and JOI II Limited.
Originally, JOI Gaming was granted a license to operate in the Netherlands in November 2021. This was an important step for the brand. Additionally, the license allows the brand to participate in the Dutch online gambling market via the Jacks.nl domain.
In addition, JOI Gaming also owns a handful of other brand names. This includes Jack’s Casino, Jack’s Casino & Sports and Jack’s Sports.
The JOI Gaming brand has been well-received by Dutch players. This is no great surprise, however. The brand is part of the well-known JVH Gaming & Entertainment Group. JVH is a highly established land-based casino operator.
Dutch players are already familiar with the dozens of JVH brick-and-mortar casinos that operate across the Netherlands. These include Jack’s Casino, Flash Casino and Flamingo Casino.
This is a significant gain for JOI Gaming and JVH Gaming as a whole. JOI I and JOI II will likely provide equally great playing experiences for Dutch gamblers.
JVH Seeks Continued Expansion in the Dutch Online Casino Market
The Netherlands has only recently opened its borders to online gambling operators. However, the official market regulation happened in October 2021. The KSA is extremely particular about which operators they will permit to enter the country.
In fact, the Dutch authorities only granted ten licenses total when the initial regulations were passed. These licenses were given to major operators with long and reputable histories in the online gambling industry. The list includes names like Bet365, Tombola, and land-based Dutch gambling names like Holland Casino and Nederlandse Loterij.
JOI Gaming, a JVH subsidiary, is part of a larger network that includes 85 land-based casino branches throughout the Netherlands. Because these two additional licenses are brand new, it is still unknown which domains the two brands will use.
However, the fact that the KSA has awarded two additional licenses to JOI Gaming speaks volumes. The Dutch regulatory body is notoriously stringent with its application approvals. The KSA has a predetermined number of available licenses to give out. This is one of the government’s rules for maintaining a safe and secure online gambling environment.
Additionally, since the market’s regulation in October, they have awarded fewer than a dozen licenses for online gambling. Now, a single group has been granted three total operating licenses.
However, the KSA has stated that it will not add these license holders to its official list of approved regulators yet. This will only happen once both brands specify which domains they will choose to operate under.
Looking Toward the Future For JOI Gaming
Currently, not much is known about how JOI I and JOI II will proceed with their respective plans for their Dutch debuts.
One important piece of information that is known comes from Eric Olders, CEO of JVH Gaming & Entertainment. Olders revealed that one license is intended for use as the online variant of the popular land-based Flash Casino.
Olders is also notably pleased with these latest developments. He made the following comment to the press regarding the two new licenses:
“We are very pleased that after all the hard work, we have received and completed our permits. It was an intense process that we have been working on for a long time. The credit for this huge job goes to my team. The focus can now be on building the business. We are really looking forward to that.”
