the online casino brand Argyll Entertainment AG will soon be in new hands, with the announcement that it is being bought by Esports Entertainment Group, a gaming and eSports gambling firm that is licensed in Malta.

Argyll Entertainment On The Rise

Argyll Entertainment has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence in the world of online gaming, most recently focusing on growing its presence in the UK and Ireland.

The Swiss-based company is licensed to operate online sports betting and casino sites in both countries and currently has a staff of 40 people, with the takeover by Esports Entertainment Group seeming likely to turbo-charge its expansion plans over the next few years.

Although Esports Entertainment Group has gone public with the news of its intention to buy LHE Enterprises Ltd – which owns Argyll Entertainment – the company chose not to reveal any details concerning the price.

Esports Entertainment Group Boost

This deal is expected to bring real benefits for the Esports Entertainment Group too, as it is acquiring an online casino and gaming brand that has an annual turnover in the region of $12 million.

At the moment, the Esports Entertainment Group brand is focused on traditional, fantasy and eSports gambling, but this purchase will give them the chance to move into the online casino market.

With Argyll Entertainment under its wing, it will be able to offer its customers top casino slots and table game options as well.

Furthermore, it also provides the platform to break out of its base in Malta and into the lucrative gaming markets in Ireland and the UK where Argyll already has a foothold.

Takeovers And Mergers Becoming Common

This is the latest in a series of mergers and takeovers to be announced in the online gaming industry during the past few years, with observers suggesting that the reason for this is the tighter regulations around gambling.

According to observers, this is leading struggling operators to seek a takeover or merger as a means of consolidation.

While it is early days, this announcement makes sense for both companies and could even see Argyll Entertainment customers enjoy innovative new casino games based on popular sports.
