Microgaming has signed yet another games developer to an exclusive deal where they will produce titles only offered on the Microgaming Quickfire platform. This time, it comes by way of Gold Coin Studios, a Nevada-based developer whose first title for the platform has already been announced.

Another Developer Signs With Microgaming

A recent announcement out of the Microgaming camp has let the world know about their most recent signing, and that’s with Gold Coin Studios. This is a developer based out of Nevada, the same state where Las Vegas is located, and they’re looking to jump into the fray quickly with their first new title.

This is yet another exclusive signing by Microgaming that aims to give them a different offering than what can be found everywhere else.

The details of this deal are pretty straightforward. Gold Coin Studios will be producing games that are only made available on the Microgaming Quickfire software platform. However, the full extent of this deal in terms of the overall strategy that Microgaming is playing at is a part of the overall story here, and it’s a really interesting look into how they’re staying on the cutting edge of what’s going on in the online casino industry.

The First New Release From Gold Coin Studios

Gold Coin Studios has already announced their first joint release with Microgaming. It comes in the form of the upcoming Arthur’s Gold video slot, a game that has a set of features that’s geared around a lot of action.

A main component of the gameplay centers around the fact that this game has five total reels, but you can still score ten of a kind combinations. This is achieved by having double symbols sometimes appear on the game board that will be a part of a winning combination while counting for two symbols even though they only take up one spot.

Other features announced for this game include a free spins mode with expanding wilds and a re-spin feature. The top win is noted to be worth a whooping 4,000 times your total wager, which is up there with some of the largest jackpots you can find outside of the progressive space. It’s not surprising that this slot has such a high volatility as advertised.

Microgaming’s Overall Strategy

When online casinos started wanting games from multiple software providers instead of signing exclusive deals with a single developer, there was an incentive for overall platforms like the Microgaming Quickfire suite to come into play. These types of platforms bring games from several providers into one software solution that’s easier for a casino to pick up and run with.

The disadvantage, however, was that most of these providers signed up most of the same developers, with some platforms taking on the entire portfolios of other platforms. In the end, everyone ended up with a lot of the same content, which made competition tricky.

Microgaming is one of the few providers who have designed to get back to a level of exclusivity, and they’ve been doing that by adding exclusive contracts to their platform with companies like Gold Coin Studios. What this means is that they have a steady stream of fresh content coming in that’s different than what’s available anywhere else, which is a competitive edge to say the least.

What Gold Coin Studios Brings to the Table

Gold Coin Studios has a history of putting together some excellent slots in the land-based caisno space. They’re well-known for the level of realism put into their games, particularly on the graphical front, so there’s no doubt that they will be an asset going forward with this deal with Microgaming.

In the end, this is a pretty big win for players because it puts them in a position where they can get access to a larger number of titles while playing at some of the top online casino operators available.
