The leading software developer was recently granted the Casino Service Industry Enterprise Licence. It is such an achievement because New Jersey’s licence is permanent. In addition, the US also has a complex relationship with software developers and casino operators, with the US Justice Department expressing earlier this year its desire to curb online gambling. This is what makes the move such a privilege for NetEnt.
Why Was It NetEnt’s Big Moment?
Though NetEnt started its operations in New Jersey in 2015, it used the NJDGE’s (New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement’s) transactional waiver to operate. It is through the NetEnt Americas LLC, which is the company’s subsidiary, that they applied for the licence.
As a result, they were granted the transactional waiver in September 2015 that enabled the developer to supply their games online in New Jersey. The exemption was temporary, but the licence recently approved is permanent.
Erik Nyman, NetEnt Americas LLC’s managing director, expressed his joy at the company receiving its first and permanent US online gaming licence. He told of how the software developer has been supporting the regulator since 2015 throughout the entire licensing process.
The software developer has also expressed interest in expanding into other states that regulate online casinos, with this grant marking the next step in NetEnt’s journey of expansion across the US.
Established in 1996, NetEnt prides itself on providing first-class online games in the market. The software developer is renowned for going the extra mile in creating content that leads the way for the other online casino games. Having their players at their heart, NetEnt positions itself as an innovator in finding ways to elevate the gaming experience and has recently launched Scudamore’s Super Stakes, the company’s first sports-branded game.
