The Yggdrasil Masters Program is a campaign to gather a variety of different software developers to produce exclusive content for Yggdrasil’s software platform, and Skyrocket Entertainment is the latest addition to that number. This will include new titles based on a variety of feature films.
Yggdrasil Masters Program Adds Skyrocket Entertainment
The YG Masters Program is set up in an attempt to make Yggdrasil’s platform stand out from the competition. They want developers working with them to produce titles that aren’t available anywhere else so that they can have more and more games that can’t be played with other software providers.
The latest company to join this program is Skyrocket Entertainment.
There are some things about Skyrocket Entertainment that we’ll get into down below that make this acquisition more interesting than perhaps it would be otherwise, but the bottom line is that they’re a strong addition to the program. The fact that Yggdrasil is pushing so hard to scope out fresh names and add them to their aggregation platform shows that they are serious about taking more and more of the overall market, which bodes well for their long-term success.
GATI Access and More
GATI is a development toolkit by Yggdrasil that’s a part of the YG Masters program that makes things run a lot more efficiently. This is achieved by giving these signed developers access to tools that will allow them to stay within regulatory compliance much easier. In turn, this means that they can produce games that make their way to customers faster with fewer resources wasted in the meantime.
What this means for players is that they get more new games on a more regular basis from the same companies.
Something else we want to point out is that this effectively acts as a multiplier for the number of games that get released as a part of this program overall. That’s great news for players who don’t want to sacrifice quality while still wanting more new and fresh titles to come out on a regular basis.
Enter: The Games Company
A company known as The Games Company was purchased by Skyrocket Entertainment in 2019, and that gave them an extended reach as well as the licensing rights to produce games based on several dozen top film brands. This includes titles like The Fallen, Rambo 4, The Expendables and more.
Many of the films included in this agreement are action-oriented to say the least. For players, this means that you’ll be getting games that work really well for the slot format because action is already the name of the game from the foundation of the concept on up.
The Overall Strategy
There are a lot of software companies out there that have developed their own platforms and signed other software developers to have their games on those platforms. Yggdrasil Gaming’s slot portfolio is on many of them, just for the sake of example.
The problem is that many of these platforms end up having most of the same games because they all make deals with the same groups of major names in the game development space.
What the YG Masters Program attempts to do is bring in different developers, often a bit smaller than the industry average, to develop games specifically for their platform exclusively. Some other providers do the same type of thing, but where the YG Masters Program stands out is their GATI platform.
GATI allows these other developers, spread out all over the world, to build games under a standardized framework. As a result, they get out to players faster because they can be more easily integrated into the existing platform and because they more easily meet regulatory requirements along these lines.
That strategy seems to be working, and Yggdrasil is gaining more and more ground each quarter in terms of getting this overall platform in front of more and more players.
