Players are going to be able to see a sizable selection of titles from Yggdrasil Gaming after a new deal with Italian online gambling operator Microgame. This deal will have their titles available in a few dozen online casinos with some of their newest and freshest titles available to players before anything else.
Yggdrasil Gaming Pushes Into Italy
The reality of the regulatory side of the online gambling industry in the modern era is very complicated: Each country, region, province or state has its own regulatory commission and guidelines for licensing. That means if you want to get your games in front of more players, this often means different types of maneuvering is necessary.
Along these lines, Yggdrasil Gaming has maneuvered themselves into a prominent place in the Italian online gambling scene thanks to a new deal they’ve signed with operator Microgame.
Not to be confused with the software giant Microgaming, the company Microgame is a high-profile operator within the regulated Italian online gambling market. Yggdrasil getting their titles on this platform is a pretty big deal for a lot of reasons, and it also plays into their long-term plans for expansion.
Games Included in This Deal
The game selection included in this deal is pretty strong. Around 80 total titles are reported to be included in this distribution deal, and that includes major names like Lightning Joker and Multifly.
These games will be distributed throughout Microgame’s selection of sites they operate, and that includes more than 35 partners. It’s obviously a pretty big deal, but on top of that, these operators will gain access to the BOOST tool that’s known for being Yggdrasil Gaming’s foray into the social media integration side of things. That’s really interesting in and of itself because, at the time of this writing, none of the competition really offers something quite like that in Italy.
Role of the YG Masters Program
Another aspect of this that cannot be ignored is that many of the titles that will be made available as a part of this deal will be there because of the YG Masters Program. This has been Yggdrasil’s attempt to get new names into their selection of titles by offering exclusive game production contracts with smaller software houses from all over the world.
As a result, they will be offering a number of titles that you can’t really find with any other platform, which gives Microgame yet another leg up in this deal as a whole.
Getting a Foothold in Italy
With the way the regulatory situation works right now, it’s a pretty big deal for Yggdrasil Gaming to get into the Italian market with such a major operator as Microgame. This means that they will be able to get their games in front of tons of players that they weren’t able to before, and that means that players have a lot to gain from this as well. When you add that the casinos themselves get a larger selection of high-quality games, it’s a win-win-win situation all around.
By expanding into Italy in this way, it also shows that they’re serious about expanding into as many regulated markets as they can. This is one of the ways that expansion has to happen since it’s the only way to get their titles in front of as many players as possible, and there’s no understating how important that is.
Yggdrasil’s Overall Strategy
Yggdrasil Gaming has has a very solid strategy over the past few years for their expansion. They were originally known for simply providing games to other providers, but now they are fully engaged on several fronts whether it’s their YG Masters program or getting their foot into the door in as many regulated jurisdictions as they can.
When you combine that with the great product they offer and their push into social media and other areas that most other software companies ignore, it’s clear that they will be going nowhere soon and that they will continue to take over more and more of the market for quite some time.
