An Introduction to Live Prestige Roulette

The live dealer sector has plenty of companies looking to put small tweaks on roulette games. Their idea is that they will stand out for offering players different side bets and so on. However, what we consistently see is that the quality of the experience is more important to most players.

This is where the Live Prestige Roulette tables from Playtech really shine.

Everything about this game is stripped down to its bare elements. From there, those elements are maximized for quality to match the highest levels that the industry has to offer. Every single aspect of the experience has been set up to look as smooth and high-end as possible. On top of that, you get a chat feature that incorporates the social factor that many online games miss.

This leads to a tremendous style of gameplay that you rarely get from roulette games of any kind. It’s a luxury, high-end and high-quality feel with a focus on the user experience.

Basic Rules and Gameplay

At its heart, this is a single-zero roulette game. However, there’s a lot that goes into that in terms of rules and betting. In the following, we’ll break down what you need to know to get in on the action with this game. Live Prestige Roulette games can be a favorite really quickly, especially for table game fans. You’ll see why below.

Gameplay Procedure

The main screen has three things: a roulette wheel, a dealer and background elements. Most roulette games will have a big table taking up a lot of the screen. That was removed here in favor of the simplicity of a virtual one that you’d have to use anyway.

With that visual setup in mind, here’s how the basic gameplay procedure goes for this title:

  1. The dealer will start the betting timer, which will be clearly displayed on your screen.
  2. While that’s up, you have the ability to place wagers on the table interface.
  3. We’ll get into how the specific wagers work down below. They are all based on trying to guess which number will be spun on the wheel.
  4. Once your wager is in, the wheel will spin to determine the winning number.
  5. Bets are resolved once the ball stops on the wheel, and the timer for the next round begins.

Gameplay is pretty speedy, which is good because some live games have a reputation for being sluggish. However, you do not have to bet on each round, and you only need to wager when you’re ready. This essentially allows people to play at their own pace, which is another reason the gameplay experience is so strong in this title, and you can see how the Live Prestige Roulette online tables earn their name.

Outside Wagers

Betting in this game can be broken up into two types. First, we have what we call the outside wagers. These are the clearly marked betting options that are set up around the bottom and side of the number grid. They appear “outside” of the number grid, so they are the “outside” wagers.

General consensus is that these are the easiest to start with if you’re new. They are low-risk, low-reward bets with a low volatility and lots of chances to win. Simply place your chips on the given square to make the respective wager.

  • Red/Black – This will win on a red or black number, respectively. Neither of these bets win on a green zero.
  • Even/Odd – Again, these win on even or odd like you would expect. However, the green zero does not count as either for this game.
  • 1-18/19-36 – Here you get a simple wager on the first half or last half of numbers. As you might expect, zero wins for neither of these.

All of the above wagers simply pay out 1:1 for even money. However, two other types of outside wagers exist that pay slightly differently.

  • Column Bets – On the right-hand side of the grid, you’ll see “2to1” symbols. These are for the column bets, which are wagers on horizontal columns of 12 numbers each. If you hit a win on the respective column, you’re paid at 2:1.
  • Thirds Wagers – The 1st 12, 2nd 12 and 3rd 12 correspond to 1-12, 13-24 and 25-36, respectively. Again, these pay at 2:1 and are pretty self-explanatory.

The column and thirds bets never win on a green zero.

Inside Wagers

Things get pretty interesting with the inside wagers. These all happen on the number grid, so there’s a bit more going on here. You can create some pretty interesting betting combinations if you learn how these wagers work.

  • Single Number – Also known as a straight-up bet, you can place your chips on a single number to bet on one number. These pay at 35:1 when you win, the largest payout in the game.
  • Split – This is a wager on two numbers that are adjacent to each other on the grid. Placing your chips on the line between those two numbers is how you make this bet. This wager pays at 17:1 for a win.
  • Street – The grid consists of vertical rows of three numbers. A street wager is a bet on one of those groups of three. Place your chips in the middle of the line at the top of the row to make this bet. It pays out at 11:1 if you hit one of the three numbers.
  • Corner – If you have four numbers that come together at a common corner, you can wager on them with this bet. Simply place your chips on that common corner to make the wager. This bet pays at 8:1.
  • Double Street – Two adjacent streets can be wagered on at once. All you have to do is put your chips at the top corner of where they meet. This pays at 5:1 and is the lowest volatility inside bet of all.

A couple of other inside bets are available that include the green zero.

Zero-incorporated Inside Wagers

The zero-incorporated inside wagers look a little different than the others. They are slightly atypical, so we’ve grouped them on their own:

  • Trio – There are two trio bet combinations available: 0-1-2 and 0-2-3. You put your bet at the corner of the three numbers you want to wager on, similar to a corner bet. However, since only three numbers are being bet on, this pays like a street bet at 11:1.
  • First Four – This is a bet on the 0-1-2-3 combination. It’s essentially a 1-2-3 street bet combined with the green zero. Place your chips at the top corner of 0 and 3 to make this bet, much like where you’d place the chips for a double street wager. This has the same odds of winning as a corner bet and pays the same at 8:1.

It’s pretty straightforward once you see how they work, and they are fairly intuitive if you understand the other bets.

Social Interaction and Atmosphere

A really important part of the Live Prestige Roulette environment is the social interactions. The idea is to create a fun experience by letting you talk to other players from across the globe. That’s what you’ll get with the chat feature in the bottom-left corner of the game board.

Note that you do have the option to turn the chat off in the settings if that’s what you prefer. This is a good customization option for those who don’t care so much about the social elements.

Not only can you chat with other players, but you can talk with the dealer as well. Something that makes this format interesting is that the dealer has less to do with running the game than most other roulette games since there is no actual table to work with. As a result, they tend to be more engaged with players, which is a lot of fun.

As an aside, you can also tip your dealers if you would like, but there is no obligation to do so.
