An Introduction to Live Soiree Baccarat
In the world of online Baccarat, there’s no shortage of rehashed versions of the same old thing. While this used to be a game that was all about high end play, that’s no longer the case. The online environment has watered this down a bit by treating it as a niche game instead of something that commands a lot of attention to detail.

Playtech’s Live Soiree Baccarat tables do the exact opposite. They treat this game very seriously with tons of options.
Along these lines, this is a VIP style table, which we’ll get into further down below. As a result, you’ll see that it caters more toward the high roller crowd. If that’s not you, then there’s no problem. Playtech has other live Baccarat games with similar rule sets that will be a great fit. However, if you’re looking for the individualized touch that comes with this level of stakes, then Playtech is there ready to give it to you.
Getting Into the Game
We want to point out that there are requirements to get into this game. It’s simply not out there available for everyone.
First off, you need to contact the support team and ask for the tables to be open to you. They will check your account to make sure that you meet bankroll minimums and other factors. Along these lines, there is a minimum bet of €50 per hand that applies to all wagers. That’s one of the big reasons why they check your account. They want to make sure that you actually can afford to play at this level of stakes.
You may also be asked to fill out some other information. A lot of this is to meet regulatory guidelines to help prevent things like fraud and money laundering. While it can take a few moments to do, remember that it’s ultimately in place to protect your account.
Note also that you’ll be the only person playing at the given table. You won’t have other players at the table slowing things down or taking up chat space. It’s just you, the dealer and a pit boss there to supervise play and answer any questions.
Best Casinos for Live Soiree Baccarat
The first thing you’ll look for is that they have Playtech’s selection of live dealer games. Without that, they won’t have Live Soiree Baccarat, and there’s no use in trying. From there, you should look for a great reputation and licensing from at least one top-level regulator. If you’re going to be playing for high stakes, then you want to know that your funds are safe. This is the worst time to be playing with a casino that isn’t legitimate.
From there, ask the support team or otherwise look for high roller deals. When you play at a high volume like this, you can usually get special offers that aren’t advertised. That’s why contacting the customer service team is so important. Many casinos will also put you in contact with a concierge service that will help to manage your account on a one-on-one basis. These are the types of things you can ask for when you play at a high level of stakes, so you might as well take advantage of them if they’re available to you.

Game Rules and Play Procedure
Most of the time, Baccarat rules are pretty consistent across different variations. However, this title actually combines the two most popular variations. You get to essentially choose which of the two rule sets you want to play with when you sit down. However, you can also switch between the two from hand to hand if you are so inclined.
In the following, we’re going to break down all of what this game has to offer. We’ll assume that you want a quick refresher on the rules of the game. However, if you’re already familiar with them, then feel free to hop down to where we break down other specifics.
How a Hand is Played
We’ll start with how a hand is played. After this, we’ll look at how the available bets are paid out and what you can expect from side wagers.
- Play happens with a shoe of six or eight decks.
- You’ll start off by making your wagers on the game board. A variety of bet types are available, and we’ll look at those down below.
- After placing your bets, two cards are dealt to two positions on the table. These are called the player and banker hands.
- A series of house rules decide if a third card is dealt to either hand. You don’t need to remember these rules, and they’re available in the help file if you’re so inclined. However, they’re not important for you to know otherwise, so we’ll skip over them here since they get pretty complicated.
- The total of each hand is found by adding up all of the cards in each hand. Aces are worth one, and two through nine are worth their face value. Face cards and 10s are worth zero.
- The score of each hand is determined by its “ones” digit. For example, a hand of 7-5 adds up to 12, but the score is actually 2 because that is the “ones” digit.
- Once the hands are dealt, winning wagers are determined from the results.
- After that, the process continues all over again.
This is a really straightforward game once you’re used to it. Now let’s look at how you can win with different bet types.
Standard Wagers
There are a few bets in this game that are the most common of them all. They’re the player, banker and tie bets. These essentially bet on which of the two hands will win. Additionally, they make up the vast majority of wagers made at the Live Soiree Baccarat tables.
The player bet always pays at 1:1 if the player hand wins. Likewise, the tie bet always pays at 8:1. However, the banker bet can vary depending on which style of the game you’ve chosen.
- Commission – In the standard variation with commission on the banker bet, the rule is as follows. You’re paid out at 0.95:1 on wins, but there is no restriction on those wins like the following.
- No Commission – This simplifies things slightly by making all of the wins 1:1. However, the one exception is that wins where the banker has a score of 6 are dropped to being worth 0.5:1.
The payout rate for each of these two styles are extremely similar. That means that you can effectively choose whichever one appeals to you with no major differences.
Major Side Bets
From there, you’ll have a few major side bets. You can choose from any of these on any hand with no restrictions whatsoever.
- Big – If three cards are dealt to at least one of the hands, then this wager wins. You’ll win at 0.54:1, and the house advantage is 4.4 percent.
- Small – Alternatively, if neither hand is dealt a third card, the small wager wins. The payout here is stronger at 1.5:1, and the house edge is 5.3 percent.
- Either Pair – If either hand starts with two cards with the same rank, the either pair wager wins. The house advantage, however, is 14.5 percent, which is pretty high. The payout rate comes in at 5:1.
- Banker/Player Pair – These are two separate bets on whether each hand individually starts with a pair. The house edge is 11.3 percent for both with a payout of 11:1.
- Perfect Pair – A perfect pair is when either hand starts with two cards of the same exact suit. You’ll have a payout of 25:1 paired with a house edge of 17.1 percent.
Some of these side bets have favorable payout rates, and others are pretty low. However, you get to decide which of these bets you want to make on your own with the information available.

Egalite Side Bets
The egalite side bets are a special set of options only available through Playtech. This adds some real variety to the side bets available in Live Soiree Baccarat as well.
The idea behind these side bets is that you’re betting that the two hands will result in a tie. However, you’re specifically choosing what you think the total will be for each hand. For example, a wager on an egalite 7 is a bet that both hands will tie with 7 points each.
The payouts for different egalite bets are a bit different. That’s because the chances of the two hands tying with different values is different. Here’s what you can expect:
- Egalite 0 – 150x
- Egalite 9 – 80x
- Egalite 8 – 80x
- Egalite 7 – 45x
- Egalite 6 – 45x
- Egalite 5 – 110x
- Egalite 4 – 120x
- Egalite 3 – 200x
- Egalite 2 – 220x
- Egalite 1 – 215x
These wagers add a lot of variety, and they give you chances to win bigger payouts than what are usually available in most Baccarat games. Given that these are high roller tables, you could end up hitting major payouts with these bets.
How to Win at Live Soiree Baccarat
In terms of strategy, you mostly want to stay away from the side bets. All of the egalite bets have house edges of more than 10 percent, which is pretty high. For the individual hand pair bets, it’s more than 11 percent, and it’s over 14 percent with the either pair. The small and big side bets are somewhat of an exception. They have house edges of 5.3 and 4.4 percent, respectively.
The tie bet is also historically bad. This leaves the banker and pair bets. The banker wager (in both forms) is very marginally better than the player bet. However, it’s such a small margin that it’s virtually indistinguishable for most players. Therefore, our recommended strategy is to pick either the banker or player bet on each wager and to limit your exposure on the side bets.

Overview
High rollers will absolutely love the attention and individualized experience they get with Playtech’s Live Soiree Blackjack game. However, it’s worth noting that a lot of the same functional play can be had in their Prestige Baccarat also. The main difference is that you have to play with other people in that version. You also don’t get the ability to choose your dealer like you do here. Moreover, you’ll have a pit boss supervising your game to help you with any questions in this one.
